The Carolina AM Golf Tournament
The Carolina AM is a two day, 36 hole stroke play golf tournament, for amateurs only. To qualify amateurs must have a 6.3 handicap index or less. The Carolina AM summer golf event is held annually.
The Intimidators franchise moved to Kannapolis in 1995 from Spartanburg, South Carolina, where they had been a Class A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. After NASCAR racing legend Dale Earnhardt purchased a share in the team’s ownership, he involced in a fatal accident. It was then that the name was changed to the Kannapolis Intimidators, in honor of Earnhardt’s legendary nickname.
